Paddle Ready Position - 50 Seconds for 50+ Pickleball Players

Fifty seconds, one tip, made for the 50+ player. Traditional paddle ready position has your paddle out in front of you, ready to react in any direction. It works. But as we get older and our reflexes slow down a bit, there's a version of ready position that gives you more body protection when the ball gets hot. Bring the paddle face more parallel to the net, facing toward your opponent. Two hands on it if you'd like. You're setting up maximum paddle face relative to the attack. Yes, you'll be a touch slower getting the paddle over to your forehand side, but in exchange, you cover more of your body. It's a trade-off. For a lot of 50+ players, that's the right exchange. Try it next time you're at the kitchen line and your opponent speeds the ball up. See how it feels. More tips for 50+ players? You know where to find them. Stay well out there.
